Greeting Cards

As I was looking for a birthday card for my sister, I noticed these greeting cards in WH Smiths. I felt the typography is applied greatly. I rarely see inspirational design in shops and bars I visit as they are very hard to notice within mass of different products around them but these cards had a strong effect on attention. I mostly appreciated the simplicity in the type, which I believe is currently the most important rule in design today. Besides the funny quotes being the main context of the idea, the use of colour on the white background dominates a strong appliance. I felt encouraged to design some cards myself and look forward to exploring this method.
